Haddon and Hardwick Hall

HADDON HALL (I think...)

Today we went to Haddon and Hardwick Hall, and honestly, I don't remember which one is which... but I'm pretty sure this is Haddon Hall, but don't take my word for it, haha. Below are some hedges out front of the home, a pig and a peacock. They represent the families that lived in the home.

Two of the coolest things about this place is that both Pride and Prejudice, and more importantly Princess Bride were filmed here. This balcony below is where the crew was hiding before they sent down Fezzick in a burning wheel barrell down the to door with all of the guards before the wedding. The gate where they entered at that moment was also here, but it was part of the private quarters of the building so we were not able to see that part.

This is THE archway that Buttercup dreams about when she marry's Humperdinck and the witch boo's her over and over... this was epic to see haha.

Just some other places around the Hall.

Alrighty, Hardwick Hall! There was an older building that used to be the main place which is now decaying, and then there is a newer home (newer... still like 400 or more years old).

This is a shot from inside the older building looking towards the new one.
